In December of 2015, Dean Cavaretta, was hired by Donald J. Trump to be the Massachusetts State Director for his Presidential Primary Campaign. On Super Tuesday, March 1, 2016, Cavaretta delivered 49.6% of the vote – handing Mr. Trump his largest electoral victory in ANY state for all of February and March during that presidential primary season. Later, Dean served as a proud, elected Trump Delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio. 

Cavaretta was the Deputy Campaign Manager for Karyn Polito’s 2010 Campaign for State Treasurer. In 2014, he worked on the winning Baker/Polito Governor and Lt. Governor campaign as a Special Assistant to Ms. Polito during her initial campaign roll-out.   In 2018, Cavaretta worked as a consultant to the Geoff Diehl for U.S. Senate campaign and Campaign Manager to Jay McMahon of Bourne – the MA GOP endorsed candidate for Massachusetts Attorney General.

From the fall of 2015 to summer of 2019, Cavaretta worked as a Social Worker for the Worcester County Jail and House of Correction under Sheriff Lewis G. Evangelidis.  He is currently the Founder of Gen X Strategic Consulting based in Stow, MA.

A recipient of both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Northeastern University, Cavaretta is dual-certified to teach History and Political Science (Grades 5-12) by the Massachusetts Department of Secondary and Elementary Education. He has varied teaching experience in the Ashland, Lexington, Acton-Boxborough and Concord Carlisle public school systems. He successfully fulfilled his student teaching practicum at Framingham State University.

Mr. Cavaretta has also combined his teaching skills and a love of sports to help student-athletes achieve success on and off the playing fields. He worked as a Freshman Football Coach at Concord Carlisle Regional High School, and was the Head Junior Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School, where he is also a proud member of the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame. Mr. Cavaretta’s public service also includes experience as a Commissioner on the Acton Housing Authority, and he also served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard (747th Military Police Company) and credits this leadership and military training in helping him become a more effective educator and coach.

In 2014, Cavaretta played a leadership role in the opening of the MassGOP Victory Field Office in Swampscott, Mass. He was a consultant to the Massachusetts Republican Party on various 2013 Special Elections, where he successfully assisted political newcomer Leah Cole in her first Peabody Special State Representative election. In 2012, he ran a spirited campaign himself for the Massachusetts State Senate against Sen. James B. Eldridge (D-Acton) in the Middlesex and Worcester District.

Dean co-authored New Mass Playbook– a blueprint for electoral success and grassroots reforms for the Republican Party in Massachusetts.  

Cavaretta began his career in state government as a MassHighway Project Manager for the Worcester/Millbury Route 146 and I-90 Mega Project in the late 1990’s. He also worked as Special Assistant to the Secretary to former Lawrence Mayor Kevin J. Sullivan at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation when Mr. Sullivan was chosen by Gov. Argeo Paul Cellucci’s to lead the Department in early 1999.
